Dr Roger Foxall


Dr Roger Foxall has been named British Columbia’s science and technology champion of the year by the Innovation and Science Council of British Columbia. Foxall, co-founder of Genome BC and its executive VP, was recognized for his achievements in promoting and fostering S&T in the province. He was instrumental, along with the late Dr Michael Smith, in convincing the government and regional S&T community that investment in genomics was essential to ensure BC’s future in the knowledge-based economy. Largely through his efforts, Genome BC attracted $100 million in financing and several world class scientists to the province. Foxall was involved since 1992 in Canada’s first genomics initiative – the Canadian Genome Analysis and Technology (CGAT) program….
